1961年生まれ、埼玉県在住。東京をベースに活動。
山岡さ希子(山岡佐紀子の表記もある)は、“ひとつの場所・ノットとしての身体を引き受ける運命的な”プロセスであるパフォーマンスアートの思想をベースに、パフォーマンスアート、映像、写真、ドゥローイング(絵画)などの作品に取り組んでいる。これまで、時間の彫刻、個人の妄想、公共空間、などがテーマとなってきた。1992年にシンガポールのThe Artists Villageの企画イベントSingapore Art festival of Fringeに参加したのを皮切りに、ヨーロッパ、南北アメリカ、アジアなど22カ国以上の様々なアートフェスティバルや展覧会に参加してきた。2000年、東京藝術大学大学美術館にて「Performance Art!」というイベントを企画。2004年、国際交流基金の派遣事業でドイツ、ケルンのE.P.I.Zentrum（ヨーロピアン・パフォーマンスアート・インスティチュート・センター）に半年ほど滞在し、パフォーマンスアートについて研究。2005年横浜トリエンナーレ応援企画の「横浜港湾行為借景計画」を企画、2人のドイツ人アーティストと9人のアーティストたちと寿町に滞在し、埠頭までの路上にてパフォーマンスツアーを行った。2007年グラスゴーのNational Review of Live Artから招待。2010年と2012年は、それぞれDislocate10, Dislocate12という東京ベースのイベントに参加、パブリックスペースについての作品を連続して作った。2013年、クリティバ・ビエンナーレ（Brazil)に招待参加し、映像作品を作る。2016年に、パフォーマンスアートの記録映像のアーカイヴ (IPAMIA) を設立。
Born 1961. Based in Tokyo and Saitama, Japan.
With an underlying concern for performance art as a fateful process in undertaking the body as a single site or node, Yamaoka Sakiko is an artist who utilizes performance art, moving image, photography and drawing(painting). Her creative practice has investigated sculptures of time, individual delusions, and the questioning of public space.
Since her participation in the Singapore Art festival of Fringe (organized by The Artist Village ,1992), she has taken part in variety of performance art festivals in more than 22 countries across Europe and North/South America and Asia. In 2000 she organized the event “Performance Art!” in The University Museum, Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. She went on to undertake 6 months of research into performance art in Europe hosted by E. P. I. Zentrum (Cologne, Germany) with the support of the Japan Foundation (2004). Following this she presented her work in “National Review of Live Art” (Glasgow, U.K., 2007). In 2010 and 2012, she participated in the Tokyo based art project ”Dislocate” and created a performance series tackling public space. She created moving image work examining the relation between individual desires in “Curitiba Biennale” (Brazil, 2013). In 2016 she founded the Independent Performance Artists’ Moving Images Archive (IPAMIA).
