アーティスト／Back and Forth Collectiveメンバー

1985年東京都生まれ。現在、東京とバンドン（インドネシア）に在住、活動。

2009年女子美術大学芸術学部芸術学科卒業。2011年チェルシー芸術大学大学院ファインアーツ科修了。近世から現代にいたるインドネシアと日本の歴史的関係のリサーチを基点に、資料やアーカイブといった公的なドキュメントのみならず、小説や日用品、作家自身が現地を歩き、映像を撮影するなど多角的なアプローチを取り入れ、現在にも通ずる社会・政治的な問題や多国間における関係性を考察する映像作品やインスタレーションを発表している。近年は見過ごされがちな女性に関する歴史を主に扱う。

Born 1985 in Tokyo, Japan. Lives and works in Bandung, Indonesia and Tokyo.

Graduated with an MA Fine Art from Chelsea College of Arts in 2011, a BA Art Theory from Joshibi University of Art and Design in 2009.
With Homma’s interest on historical relationships between Indonesia and Japan from the early modern period to the present times, she uses not only documents and archival materials but also novels and everyday materials to make videos and installations. She also travels around the places related to the researches for filming. Her interdisciplinary approaches try to explore social and political issues would happen in any period and multilateral relationships. Recently, she works on making essay films to tell hidden stories of women as well.
